American photographer Sean Stiegemeier saw all of these mediocre pictures of the volcano in Iceland nobody can pronounce the name of, and he figured he should go there and do better. He made this time-lapse video of what happened on May 1st and 2nd, 2010.

William Hoffman is a New York filmmaker who put this video together and uploaded it last August. It’s finally getting some viral activity, and rightfully so. It’s “a celebration of life that was inspired by David Eagleman’s book, Sum.”
