Where Cursors Come From
Millions of computers are made each year and still no one talks about sustainability in the cursor industry. We should, because according to this poster they’re being cut down at an alarming rate. We’re in luck that Nathan W Pyle has designed this poster informing us about the massive cursor deforestation going on.

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- An Atlantic Beach woman was taken into police custody after investigators said she used frozen lasagna to serve up violence instead of serving it for dinner.

Darwin Award: Dumbest Accidental Deaths.
A "Darwin Award" is an honor named after evolutionary theorist Charles Darwin, given for people who "do a service to humanity by accidentally removing themselves from the gene pool" (i.e. lose the ability to reproduce either by death or sterilization in a stupid fashion). According to Wendy Northcutt, author of the Darwin Award books: "TheAwards honor people who ensure the long-term survival of the human race by removing themselves from the gene pool in a sublimely idiotic fashion." Example of Darwin award winners include:
Jumping out of a plane to film skydivers without wearing a parachute (U.S., 1987); Trying to get enough light to look down the barrel of a loaded muzzleloader gun using a cigarette lighter (U.S., 1996); Attempting to play Russian roulette with a semi-automatic pistol that automatically loads the next round into the chamber.
Each year, one award is selected as being much more "honorable" than the rest, and it is crowned as the "Darwin Award of the Year". In 2007, the winner was "The Enema Within", in which a man died of alcohol poisoning after having two 1.5 litre bottles (over 100 fluid ounces) of sherry inserted anally.

Annoying things about the internet.
Viruses, scams and spam
Obviously.
PDFs
The information could usually have been presented much more accessibly on a web page.
WrItInG In A MiXtUrE Of UpPEr CaSe AnD LoWeR CaSe
It's not useful, attractive or funny. How on earth did it take off?
Patently absurd abbreviations
While it's perfectly conceivable that the other person may indeed have LOL'd at your joke, one struggles to picture them ROFLMAOing, given that there was no break in their typing.
Websites that don't support a browser's back and forward features
We have become so accustomed to navigating with the two buttons, that it's difficult to manage without them.

Annoying things about the internet.
Password stipulations
One site demands eight characters, another a mix of letters and numbers, and a third says that the term you've been using for years is now too weak.
Auto-run videos
In fact any audio that plays without the explicit consent of the user. Who hasn't scrabbled to shut down a browser window as colleagues look round for the source of that shame song?
Get-rich-quick schemes
If the foolproof share picking formula actually worked, why are its inventors hawking CDs and books online for £19.99 a pop rather than sunning themselves in Bermuda?
Buffering
Tick, tock.

Annoying things about the internet.
Hard-to-find login buttons
Some websites are so keen to make themselves appealing to new users that they forget about their existing members, hiding the login buttons in tiny fonts at the extremities of the screen. Only logout buttons are given less prominence.
National restrictions
There are compelling legal reasons why some online content - such as Olympics footage, which is sold on different terms to many national broadcasters - has to be nation-specific. But in an era of free-flowing information, it comes as a shock to be told that you cannot watch a video because of where you live.
Fake viral clips
They wouldn't be annoying if they weren't so effective. Two particularly infuriating examples are the video that purported to show mobile phones popping pop corn, which was subsequently exposed as a stunt by a bluetooth headset retailer Cardo, and another claiming to show an onion charging an iPod.

Vatican says aliens could exist (some even free from original sin).
Writing in the Vatican newspaper, the astronomer, Father Gabriel Funes, said intelligent beings created by God could exist in outer space. The official Vatican newspaper headlines his article 'Aliens Are My Brother'. The search for forms of extraterrestrial life, he says, does not contradict belief in God. Just as there are multiple forms of life on earth, so there could exist intelligent beings in outer space created by God. And some aliens could even be free from original sin, he speculates.
The picture does not represent an alien free from original sin – just a random alien. Link.

Gina I ♥ U.
Whoever was trying to woo Gina went to quite a lot of effort with this enormous, multi-coloured shout-out. It can (or could - we're not sure) be found on a couple of ghost ramps on State Route 520 in Seattle and was hopefully greeted with a positive reaction.
Click here to feel the love on Google Maps.

The dullest blog in the world.
Drumming my fingers on the arm of the chair
April 12th, 2004 I was sitting down on one of the chairs in my house. My hand was resting on the arm of the chair. I started to drum my fingers on the arm, thereby making a barely audible sound.
It's a shame http://www.dullestblog.com/ doesn't update often.
Thinking about putting on some music…
February 22nd, 2004 I was in a room carrying out some routine activities. I began to consider playing some music on the stereo system. I looked at some compact discs for a while, but didn’t put one on.
It's a shame http://www.dullestblog.com/ doesn't update often.
Monkey Picked Tea.
This rare chinese tea is carefully picked by specially trained monkeys in a remote mountain region of China. Legend has it that monkeys were first used to collect tea ten centuries ago, because upon seeing its master trying to reach some tea growing wild on a mountain face, the monkey climbed up the steep face and collected the tea growing there and brought it down to his master.
Nowadays the practice of monkeys picking tea has all but died out, except in one small remote village where they still continue this remarkable tradition.

Annoying things about the internet.
Lazy activism
Joining a Facebook group is the new going on a march, just substantially less effective. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's regime did not buckle under the onslaught of green-tinted Twitter avatars.
Pop-up adverts
Websites need to make money and static adverts don't bring in enough revenue. But that knowledge doesn't make invasive pop-ups - particularly those that hide their close buttons - any less annoying.
Everything has been done before
Had an idea? Well someone in San Jose had it last year, got VC-funding and has already launched Beta testing.
MySpace and Bebo
Far too hard on the eyes.
